Local businesses, Station 5 Grille (Natick) and Button Box Quilt Shop (Wellesley) have joined forces to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life to be held in Natick on June 7 and 8.
Station 5 Grille has formed a team to participate in the relay in honor of Ann-Marie Sweeney. Ann-Marie, a two-time cancer survivor, is the sister of Station 5 proprietors Pia and Mike Haigis.
Button Box Quilt Shop is raffling a beautiful 58" x 68" quilt to help raise money for the team. This colorful quilt, valued at $300, was pieced and quilted by the Button Box staff.
Carole Manna, the Button Box Quilt Shop manager is the mother of Ann-Marie and Pia. She feels that the Relay is an important event. She knows first hand the devastating effects of cancer on a family. Carole will be joined in the relay by her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and friends.
This is the second year that the Button Box has held a raffle in honor of Ann-Marie and of Button Box Quilt Shop owner Catherine Gentile who is a two-year cancer survivor. The raffle will be held on Mother's Day at The Button Box.
Tickets can be purchased at Station 5 Grille located in the shopping plaza adjacent to Roche Brothers in Natick, and at The Button Box located at 5 Overbrook Drive in Wellesley, off Route 9 on the Natick/Wellesley line. All proceeds will be donated to the Relay for Life.
