This year’s Student Quilt Show had the loveliest entries. I hope you got the chance to see it – everything from bed quilts to very small art quilt, modern to antique. They filled the walls of the classroom. Our customers voted for their favorites for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners. I was delighted to see entries from such a wide range of quilters.
1st Prize – Amy McLaughlin – Baltimore Album wall quilt
Amy’s quilt was started in a class taught by Helga Willems in 2003. She finished the quilt in June 2007. Amy, a veteran quilter, sewed finely detailed and embellished appliqué blocks with ruched flowers and stuffed berries.
